Our information is that there were around 18000 Paharias in 1981 in Litipara block alone. And numbers have increased in 2001 in the villages known to us, such as Sonadhuni.Of course your data on starvation and hunger is correct. There are also many malaria, TB and Kala Azar deaths which also relate to malnutrition- the CM referred to this.
