Re: Stop sacrifice of animals on the name of religious tradition

This is the height of specious reasoning as Barabra fails to understand the cruelty involved, the illogic and ill effects of animal sacrifice or slaughter on self and enivironment. Her only defence is myth that's drawn from scripture.
The myth of the Jewish patriarch Ibrahim (Abrahim) sacrificing an animal instead of his son after clearing a stringent test of faith devised by Yahweh (Jehovah) forms the basis of the Eid ul Adha (Bakri Eid) celebration.
Firstly, Ibrahim/Abraham cannot be said to be a historical person as there exists no hard proof to corroborate his existence and even if we believe that he was a real person there's no way of substantiating the tale of an extra-cosmic god appearing to him and testing him in the said manner and thereafter miraculously arranging for an animal to be sacrificed instead of his beloved son.
Stories of the extra-cosmic god (Yahweh/Allah) somehow creating out of nothing, somehow governing the cosmos and people's lives despite this extra-cosmic being having no causal connection with anything, capriciously dividing humaity into "believers" and "non-believers", asking believers to discriminate against non-believers, abusing non-believers, threatening to roast or barbecue non-believers and sinners in some hell after death, appearing to certain individuals, despatching invisible angels to convey worn out, fictional and ordinary information to certain men (prophets), testing chosen individuals and asking them to cruelly sacrifice animals are certainly the stuff of fairytales that're aimed at undeveloped intellects.
Halal or non-halal methods of killing beasts are both barbaric and reveal a sadistic mindset at work that seeks to inflict pain on helpless animals who die a most horrific death and whose toxic flesh is then relished by believers and meat eaters alike. With believers they naively think that their chimerical extra-cosmic god who creates out of nothing is mighty pleased with their despicable sacrifice and feel themsleves blessed while none pauses to think of the cruelty involved, the ill effects of meat eating on the psycho-emotional-physical human self and the stress put on natural resources and the unbalances created in the enivironment by the commercial breeding millions of animals for the table or for sacrifice.
It's time to adopt a eco-sensitive, rational and compasionate way of life that promotes life and growth.
Vegetarianism is food with a proven benign philosophy at its crux and from the practical perspective it is a karma free diet !
