Sent to people and groups who refuse to see reality and who oppress the people of Jharkhand...
I am the only Indian to have written a two volume, 2000 page book on 1857, the first war of Indian Independence, do you still think I have been funded by someone to write and that there is anything other than patriotism that motivates me? Let me ask you one thing (and I am sorry to say this)--where were people like you when India, celebrating the 150th anniversary of 1857, needed an indigenous, non-western perspective about one of the greatest anti-colonial struggles in world history, something which is still called `Mutiny' by the British? I wrote this mammoth book when probably people like you, instead of supporting writers like me doing genuine were probably reading the stuff imposters like Dalrymple write. I wrote this book while going through pain, without comfort for several days; fighting with my wife; with my whole family who thought I was crazy doing such a work for a little advance; with the Indian academic establishment famously reticent about generating resources for nationalist perspectives--why? I have several relatives in the US and I too could have taken up a plush job there. I had several offers. What bothers me are the easy assumptions of you NRIs; I have put my life in line fighting against RSS and Moditva, especially after Modi personally orchestrated the butchering of hundreds of his own people in that train in Godhra. As a true Sanatani Hindu, I was ashamed; I was also ashamed that the Indian constitution was in tatters. I think the days of the upper caste intelligentsia in India are over. You people think you are liberals--but if scratched the anti-Muslim, anti-Dalit, anti-Adivasi, anti-backward caste biases become evident. You do not realize the challenges India is going through. There is a serious attempt to partition this country again--how else would you explain the fact that an event like 1857 and my book were downplayed even though 1857 presents a beacon of not only Hindu-Muslim unity but unity in diversity and the promise India once had to carve out its own non-colonial, non-western path of development? Modi and Advani talk about nationalism--I had claimed in my book that 10 million Indians were killed during the 1857 wars and articles appeared in the London Guardian on the theme. But Modi or Advani, they never cared for calling me up to congratulate me. Why can't Mossad kill its own people (like what happened in Nariman House)? Mossad has done it before and even a child knows this; you only have to go onto the net; recently a Muslim `Jihadi' organization in Yemen was found to have been a Mossad set-up. The Ratan Tata-Modi nexus is well knwon--then the man who owns Oberoi, Nanda is a very close supporter of Modi. You are either too ignorant or live in a make-believe Matrix type world where you do not want to see reality. Or maybe, the time of upper caste intellectuals is over. India needs a new infusion of blood--and that can only come from the suppressed minorities, Adivasis, Dalits and backwards. Amaresh __._,_.___
